First mistake was not stopping and checking it. But, can't do anything about that now. Re-fill the oil to the proper level and once started, look everything over for leaks. If you lost most of the engine oil, chances are it won't be too difficult to find the problem unless you have a small leak and just haven't done any weekly routine checks to maintain proper fluid levels. (bet you will now!!)
Chevy engines are pretty tough...hopefully you haven't done any serious damage.
