If you look between the alternator and A/C compressor on the intake manifold, there is a black pipe that connects to the top radiator hose. That pipe is the thermostat housing and it should take you about 15 min to replace the thermostat with a ratchet set. Just make sure your have the new thermostat ready so when you lift on the thermostat housing you can pull out the old thermostat and place in the new one in with out losing to much antifreeze. After putting everything back together, start the engine and look for any leaks. The rubber seal on the new thermostat will seal and small leaks soon as the engine warms up and the rubber seal soften's up to plug up and leaks. Good luck and hope this makes scene, keep me posted and ill see if i can enplane again. Easier to do it then to explain on paper.
bprice195, to locate the thermostat just follow your radiator hose on the top rear, will be a fat hose, follow this to the engine, where it stops is the thermostat housing, should be 2 bolts, when you take those out and remove the housing, the thermostat is inside, I hope this helps
follow Upper Radiator Hose to Thermostat Housing on the Engine. Make sure Engine is cold , remove Upper Hose Clamp, remove Hose from Housing, remove Housing & Thermostat & Gasket. Replace and reverse procedures. Refill cooling System and retest System. Bleed Air from Cooling System as required. Make sure Thermostat is facing in the original position. I prefer the Factory Thermostat with an Air Bleed Hole in it.
