- car has been stood for a few weeks. have jump started once in that time and mechanic friend tested battery and alternator. Both were charging okay. That was few weeks ago and it is now flat (hasnt been used since.) Will it keep charging itself the more I use it? Do I need to drive it for a long time and regular for it to recharge fully?
If it is not a hybrid, the battery sould be charged on a slow charger at 2amps for about 12 to 18 hours, this will give it a deep cycle charge that will last.

- No it will not charge itself to full deep charge,it needs the slow charge, the longer the better,12 hours or more would do it.Todays cars require a lot of voltage to run, therefore not allowing the battery to receive it~s full needed charge,I hope this helps you on the information you requested, and thank you.

Hey, thanks so much for your help. Your response sounds like it might be the problem, either the clutch switch or a bad solenoid. I had to push start it again and drove it to my mechanic. Listen to this.... When I got it to the mechanic, I turned the car off and tried starting it again. IT STARTED WITH NO PROBLEM, TWICE!!!! Don't you hate it, when the car acts up, and when you take it to the mechanic it works fine.... :( Well the mechanic is taking a look it so we'll see what the story is later. Thanks again.
