there is a ballst resistor or "fan controll module"(for any body under 30)that controlls fan speed and when that burns out it only operates on high. it should be located nearest the fan under the passenger side of the dash.

How do I change the a/c and heater unit switch in my 2003 Chevy Malibu? I posted a similar problem earlier but can't log back into Fixya. Since I posted the problem, I figured out the heating core is fine, the fan blows fine and there is no clog in the heating unit. Two mechanics told me it was probably the switch behind the dash or radio console but neither one knew how to replace it or didn't want to do it because it was going to be too much work.

The other day I use my right turn signal light to make my turn and right after that on my right side of the dashboard this clicking noise started. Today the battery signal came on. Was this a battery issue?
