When repairing my 1999 grand cherokee from home what is the simpliest way to replace the heater core and what steps do I take to master the problem myself?

Get yourself a manual and schedule yourself for at least an all day job. You need to remove the dashboard. There isn't any easy way.

It is a big job. I did this on my carport about 6 months ago. It is an all day job because you have to take every part of the dash down to the firewall. Be carefull when installing the new on because the work area is tight and the cores are brittle. Try www.wjjeeps.com
