- it is actually the tensioner pulley for the drive belt the bearings were toasted and now i hear the idler pulley making noise but it cheaper than 380 to fix . the vibration was transfering through the whole side of the timing cover.Nov 04, 2009

common problem. timing chain tensioner needs to be replaced. chain has too much slack causing the noise.
