Checking Manaul transmission oil level on 2001

there is a plug about 1/2 way along the side of the gearbox about 1/2 way from bottom to top undo that plug and the oil level is the bottom of that hole . put your finger in and oil should be right at that edge. it is difficult to do on the ground it is best on a hoist or a ramp or over a pit . there is no dip stick for this job .
