The fuel pump is in the tank. I think you can access it by remove the rear seat bottom cushion. You do this by pushing in at the bottom to push it back toward the rear. One hook on each side. This should expose a round access cover. Remove it and the pump and fuel sender assembly are there. You usually have to rotate the ring counter clockwise about a quarter turn. Usually a hammer and chisel is needed to break it loose. Install a new ring with the new pump.

If no access, drop the tank.

When you stop if the Mazda stalls try putting the car into neutral gear and see if it still stalls. if the Mazda does not stall in neutral then the torque converter has failed and needs replacing.

Hello vincent mham: My name is Roger and I will help with your question. The low and high pressure fuel filter are both located at the fuel pump inside of the fuel tank. To replace either fuel filter you must remove the pump unit from the fuel tank. If there is any dout about the condition of the fuel pump. I would replace the pump at the same time. Auto repair shop states that fule pump needs

If that problem with the gas guage is bothering you badly enough, then you will have to replace the fuel pump. The repair shop is on the up and up. The fuel level sending unit on the Mazda 6 is an integral part of the fuel pump assembly and is monitored by the computer. If the sending unit is defective then the entire pump assembly must be replaced, since the pump cannot be disassembled. Sorry about that, but I sure hope this helped ya!

Fuel problem

I would change the fuel filter for starters. Then I would change the fuel pump as it seems that you do not have any fuel pressure. The pump diaphram may have failed and should be replaced.

Mazda truck will crank but won't start up. tried jumping it but it didn't work

sounds like you have a fuel pump issue. first check the fuel pump relay. it's in the junction box under the hood. replace the fuel pump relay with the a/c clutch relay or heater relay and try starting the vehicle if the vehicle starts it was the relay if it doesn't check to see if there is power going to the fuel pump if there is your fuel pump needs replacing if there isn't then check the wire harness for a break in the wire. please rate
