Gday, just wanted to know the procedure of how to do it, I think I know what happened, owner tried to do themselves but did not do correctly so radio locked them out, I've just been reading that you have to leave ignition on accessories for 1 hour to clear, so you can have another go, then you just input the code with the preset buttons, if you know any different would appreciate it. If it works, let me know of way to confirm for your own knowledge base. Thanks, D Clark Checklight Automotive.
Take the radio out. copy down the serial number. Call bmw dealer and they will give you the code.
If you've tried to enter the code once, and put in the wrong code there is a 90 minute to 3 hour wait to try again. the key has to be on Accessory for this amount of time to enter it in again.
It is a 4 digit code. after you see the display of the radio readout "code" enter the 4 numbers in and bingo...........tunes again.
