Check the 4*4 sensor switch in the gearbox. If the light goes off when removing the wires, the switch is faulty.
If light stays on, you'll test the wrong switch or the circuitry is short-circuited.

4wd light flickers but no 4wd on isuzu trooper 3.1 conversion

no YEAR, now that is a challenge.... impossible...
conversion what does that mean, a modification
car is not stock? we cant do custom cars, that be impossible.
that takes genius level hands on work.

is this PART time 4wd
or that TOD systems....
by what method did you prove 4wd works (the lamp means nothing to me, only real live 4wd actions matter)

the dash cluster if it has this wild looking 4wd graphics, that be TOD. got that?
part time only works in ice/snow/dirt.
and never on dry pavement free of ice.
so are you testing on dirt? (off road, anything)
you can also do some test on jack stands
check front prop shaft ,see if it is locked up in 4wd, engine off
but you never said what transmission.
ok a/t in park. 4wd engaged.
or m/t in any gear, 1st gear best.

if that test passes, the we check that the front axle locks up.
1 step at a time.
but i dont know what you have there "full driveline option specs"

4x4 dont work ,on my 2007 compass

well first RTM read the operators guide, lost that? get one
what are you driving on, what are the tires touching,
we have no clue.... ice, snow, dirt, pavement, what?
"new Liberty limited with the full 4wd package (Selec-Trac). There is a full time 4wd and part time 4wd"
so first post which SYSTEM you have, we dont know.

best answer on the real forum is.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f28/full-time-part-time-4wd-14281/#post74794

part time is for ice and dirt
full time is like the name stated, on anything.

easy huh>
if you drive PT 4wd on pavement it will wind up the drive line
and do damage, and either fail to engage or lock up in 4wd and refuse to disengage until you hit ice or dirt.
before using 4wd why not read the guide.
read, then act.

Will not go in to 4wd mode at all and service 4wd light is on

Problem is in electrical control.
1. check computer codes.(turn ignition 1 click ON/OFF) do this 3 times quickly leaveing ON. Then read codes by odometer.
2.Check 12v power to 4wd switch at dashboard and tranfer case.If there is power to transfer case the control is bad. Check gear oil there may be a sensor stopping it.

White smoke korando

This is regarding korando white smoke problem.

I too had the same problem and took it to the agent in Sri Lanka. then only i got to know that it is not a problem but a feature. Korando has a technology called CDPF (Catalyzed Diesel Particulate Filter). What it does is collect vapor, co2 and other gasses from exhaust and burn out time to time in a high temperature. It has many advantages but bit embarrassing when it happens in the traffic :-). It happens often (for 200kms) when you pump normal diesel and happens rarely (400km) when you pump super diesel. What they advised it not to panic and do not stop the engine while it happens. You can adjust the CDPF system and its' functionality through software updates from your agent (matching to different weathers ). You can find more information about korando CDPF system from following PDF document.

Since 4WD is always on, why would the 4WD indicator light come on? Does this mean there is a problem? I was driving in the rain yesterday, and the 4WD, engine, and VSC lights came on all at once. At first...

Read the users manual, it should go off after the engine starts, if it stays on there is a problem, you will have to take the car to the service to check out.

'02 explorer woes

Ok...several issues, and you won't believe this.......The 4 wheel drive is controlled by the Body computer, thats right, there is a computer that monitors and instructs Body functions like the door ajar sensors.Well,i just finished reading a technical article on a FORD that had no 4 wd,and the transfer case controller would not allow 4wd operation because the BODY computer sensed a door ajar,so 4wd operation was inhibited. They fixed the door ajar problem,a door sensor, the door ajar light went out on the dash, and the 4wd started working again...OK.....Check engine light is the vehicle computer that controls engine and transmission functions(PCM) has detected an error with a system. When this happens, the computer stores a diagnostic trouble code.Have the codes pulled with a scan tool or code reader.Repair the codes, and the Check Engine light will go out.The power windows,i honestly don't know, but HEY...2 out of 3 ain't bad!!
