You can jump from the battery cable on the starter if you can get to it.Just be very careful not to let the cable touch bare metal and arc.

I need to know how I can get into the trunk of my 2004 XJ8 Jaguar. The battery has died and I have no power. The key isn't opening the trunk manually.

Find a helpful neighbor with jumper cables and then
pop bonnet or call a local roadside assistance service to do this with their jumper cables and battery .(they may be able to replace the battery too or call a roadside battery service provider )
and jump start car with neighbor's car
then pop truck while Jag connected to other car via jumper cables while other car has engine running.

Thanks Mike with my 99 Buick Century Limited. My 2000 Jaguar, Type-S the batter is located in the trunk and it is dead. How are you able to open the trunk. The remote won't work. How do I open it?

Use a slave battery and suitable leads or a jump starter to energise the car via the cigar lighter or by accessing the battery lead to the starter. Some vehicles with a boot or in-car mounted battery have a jump starting point in the engine compartment.

Dead battery in my 1999 jag xj8. How to get in to trunk

Attach battery power to the alternator output wire under the hood and open the trunk as you normally would as now you should have power for the trunk opener.DO NOT try to start the car using this method.

How to get into trunk if battery is dead on a 2001 jaguar s type

There should be a positive jumper cable terminal under the hood. Use another car and jumper cables to power the Jag and the trunk latch should work.

1996 jag xjs , the battery is dead , I need to jump start it but the trunk won't open ,battery in the trunk , can it be jumped from under the hood ? and why won't the trunk open even with a key ?

The trunk latch is operated by a solenoid which it requires power to operate. since the batery is flat then it won't work. I'm not sure where the positive terminal is under the hood but you can connect the positive lead to the alternator wire terminal, and the negative lead can be connected any where on the engine.
Good luck......

Is there an installable battery disconnect switch for jag s type

u can install a disconnect but when u disconnect the power it clears all settings in vehicle such as radio will have to enter code so anti-theft lock out doesnt occur or have to reset from loc to normal -memory seats -emissions reset which means that problems for inspection if vehicle doesnt cycle thru before one is done -have battery and alternator tested most auto stores do this for free -- if problem only happens during rain check connections around battery/alternator/and fuses for loose or connections that are getting wet

1999 Jaguar XJR - Dead battery and can't get in locked trunk

It takes a deal of time and patience to charge via the cigarette lighter socket though there should soon have been enough power to open the boot.

It should be possible to access the end of the main battery lead in the engine compartment in order to jump start the engine, provide power to open the boot or to charge the battery, if the battery is healthy enough to accept a charge. Some cars with a remote battery provide terminals for the purpose though I don't know whether the Jag does. If it doesn't the main battery cable terminates at the starter motor.

Why no power after jumpstarting 1986 honda

Possible bad connection between batt cables and battery. Even a weak battery will power something in the car but with asbolutely no power, it's usually a bad connection somewhere. Also check the battery itself (most "sealed" batteries can still be checked by prying up the cap to check the cells).

1999 Jag XK8 will not start. Cannot locate battery or terminals. Can you jump start with cables in order to get serviced without towing ?

The battery is either in your trunk or like the xj8 which is under the back seat, and yes you can jump start it when you locate the battery.
hope this helps
