Hi:
The Number 1 Heated Oxygen sensor is located in front of the catalytic converter. You would need to get the car up in the air, and then disconnect the electrical connector, and possibly need a special socket to remove the sensor. Also remember to purchase and use Oxygen sensor safe anti sieze compound on the threads of the new sensor, if you do this your self

My 2003 GLX will not start when it is below about 30 degrees. It sounds like the battery is dead and after numerous repetitions of turning the key, it will suddenly just start up. I have owned this car for 5 years and this happens every winter. Nobody has been able to diagnose it. Help it's getting cold!

I have a 2003 1.8T Jetta and I just recently noticed that the exhaust dropped lower than where they should be as if the exhaust is falling off. Since I have noticed this there has been a creaking noise on the driver side and it does it when I take turns at a slower speed. But this noise seems to only occur when I make the first few turns. Also there is a cover of some kind under the car that has been cracked off and hanging down on by the same wheel ever since I bought the car. Could that be the reasons for the sudden noise?

We are having issues again with the 2003 tdi automatic. If you need to put your foot into the paddle and are only in first gear it will go into the starvations mode. You then have to pull over and shut it off and then let it reset the computer. Once you restart you have to pamper it through 1 and 2nd gear and then you are ok. If going up a hill you will loose up to 10 miles per hour. On the way home the husband was driving the car and could only do 45 in a 75 zone. Car thourgh a code and he did not write down but decided to pull the air filter and the car ran like a bat out hell. We replaced the filter and the problem is not as bad but still have to pamper the car through the first few gears. Help
