Easy way is to get a plug wire puller that is insulated with it running pull the plugwires one at a time untill you pull one and the engine does not change this will be the cylinder that is misfireing, then check plug and ensure it is not fouled ou and check wire and dist, cap for cracks. berrydalewolf

I have a 2003 Ford f150 with a 5.4 . Missing at idle . Showing 300 code. Random misfire. Sometimes 301 and sometimes 303. Where should I start ?

Start by replacing coil and spark plugs for cylinders number 1 and 3 . That would be 1st and 3rd cylinders on drivers side . TIP OF THE DAY
ALWAYS SPRAY SOME WD40 DOWN THE Hole so the spark plugs come out easily.
Good luck

How to repair on a 2005 FORD E250 cargo Misfire emission level from at least 1 cylinder with three-way catalyst damage from at least 1 cylinder.

misfires are also from faulty injectors and low fuel pressures. from what you state I would be looking at those areas for the problem.

# cylinder 3 misfire

you don`t say how you verified that the plug and wire was good. I think these use coil on plug, if so check powers and grounds for that coil as one may have a problem.other things that could cause this is a bad fuel injector, poor compression due to either rings, valve, worn cam, damaged push rod,

Miss fire 1 and 5 changed wires and plugs

Probably coil pack. Follow spark plug wire from spark plug to where it plugs in, that is your coil pack. Some are seperatable. Depending on motor size you may have coil over plug. You said wires not (cop) coil over plug boots. If it is coil over plug it is just a boot you changed in that case the coils plug into boots & on plug & an electrical connector. They are seperate for each cylinder.
