Are you putting OEM fuel pressure regulators in it when you replace them or are you using aftermarket parts? Aftermarket parts will definintely fail multiple times prematurely, and even fail right out of the box. Perhaps the diaphram isn't strong enough to handle the pressure?
I couldn't find any Motorcraft available in stock for your Bronco but I recommend trying Delphi and see if that fixes the problem, if you're not using that brand already.

Standing in front of the car, the lower left vacuum port on the carb goes to the distributor. The upper left port goes to the vacuum switch for the secondaries. The brake booster screws into the rear base of the carburator. The transmission kickdown plugs into a nipple on the rear of the intake manifold.
the problem was changing that fluid! rarely happen, but it will happen when people change transmission fluid on older car then the car messed up. when you change the fluid you washed all the friction material on the clutch surface by putting in new fluid.
They sell o2 sensor trickers for the exhaust online but you shouldn't need them. If it's off road then eliminate the computer and wire in the distributor yourself. If keeping the computer then figure out if the plug is a single misfire or random. Try changing plugs and wires.
try checking your auto trani fluid... and with the 4 wheel drive try puting ti in nuteral and if the doesnt work try puting it in reverse and back up after taking it out of 4 wheel drive.
You will need the Duraspark ll ignition system from a late 70's Ford 2.8. I used the 78 Mustang ll to order the parts when I did my 84 Bronco ll 2.8. You will need the distributor, rotor, distributor cap and adapter, and the ignition module. You can use the TFI coil that was on the 2.8. you will also have to replace the feedback carb with a non feedback one. A Motorcraft 2150 will work.
