I agree with adlynch. IT's your BCM body control module. Very common problem with Aztek's. Causes lots of problems as it controls interacts with most everything in the car except engine functions. Dealer will need to program it, so it's not a do it yourself repair. Negotiate with the dealership. $350 was a good price.

No. just put the car on either ramps or jack stands. do not leave it on a jack. crawl under the car and you will find the oil pan on the bottom of the motor

Im chaging a oil pan gasket on a 2001 pontiac aztec truck

if all the bolts are out, then you will need to lift the engine slightly to clear, and tap the sides with a rubber mallet to break the seal, do not try to pry it off with a screwdriver or other metal tool, it can warp, and damage the surface making a good seal on the new gasket tough. Hope this answers your question.

How do i change the torque converter clutch soleniod in a 2001 pontiac aztak

There is a pan on the drivers side of the transmission. You will need to drop the subframe and drop the trans low enough to get the pan off thought the wheel well. One the side pan is off you will be able to service the solenoid. Lmk

How much to change a oil pan gasket for 2001 grand prix 3.8 gt

If you want to repair the oil pan I would also check lower engine mount for leaking oil and cracks in anti sway bar near fitting's. This due to engine mount is oil filled. OEM sway bar is made of tubular steel and they crack easy. Replacement sway bar is solid steel. Here's the kicker. When they pull the lower frame to service oil pan. The engine mount and sway bar are attached to that frame. A honest mechanic should only charge for parts ($35 for mount and $100 for sway bar) and maybe a extra hour. My mechanic did all in 5 hours. FYI gasket is only $35 bucks. Good luck

How do I change the oil pan gasket on my 2001 aztec

drain the oil
remove all bolts from the pan.
verify new gasket hole patern matches your pan
use a high temperature silicone and put silicone on pan and stick new gasket to pan makig sure all holes line up.
when re-installing start at the corners of the oil pan and then go in a clockwise motion adding one bolt to the opposite side if the corner bolts until all bolts have been replaced.
tighten all bolts evenly starting in the cornersdo a criss cross pattern when tightening bolts to make sure pan seats properly
go back and snug any loose bolts
if you have a torque wrench or want to rent one go ahead and torque bolts to.
done.
