I have a hyundai accent w reg (yr 2000).I had the crank shaft sensor replaced after the engine warning light came on the first time, the RAC used their diagnostic computer and did a scan revealing 4 error codes, 3 of which were not specified, one was the crankshaft sensor. But now, after the 88 pound replacement part, the engine warning light still comes on, but only when the car is idle. And rather than staying on permanently, it flashes periodically.
Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE and perhaps eventually fix the problem.

I have a 2001 Accent. And i beleive it is haunted. Atleast the wiring is for that matter. The dash lights have always blinked on and off until the car warmed up, then they would stay on. After replacing the stereo with an aftermarket deck, i lost all dash lights and control stick lights. Also my Left tail light will not turn off, and my right one seems to be blown. I checked the fuse, and the fuse was blown in the right hand light. When i replaced it and turned the lights on, it blew again. It keeps blowing fuses. Could the relay be the issue? I am dumbfounded, and the car isnt worth brining to a mechanics shop.

I live in Stockholm, Sweden. My used 2001 Hyundai Atos (i10) GLS 4 door hatchback won't start/turn over. ABS, brake, check engine, oil and battery lights all go on when the key is turned to on position. Just bought this car used 2 weeks ago. Service record and papers were all in order, test drove it, no rust in any places and then took it home. It had been working fine. Then noticed the automatic shifter was hard to put into gear, but not impossible. Today I started the car after two tries moved it 10 feet, stopped to load the car and then when I tried to start it again, all the above warning lights went on and the car would not start. I hope someone knows what's possibly happened to my car. Thanks, Charles
