What should I do to stop my belt from squealing on my Dodge Neon? I don't want to put alot of money into it because it's used to deliver papers and it has 150k on it!
If you can't tighten it, get a can of belt dressing from most parts stores, and spray some on it when the engine is running. You have to try and get some on the under side of the belt, so find a pulley that you can see the "V" part of, and spray some in there. However, the biggest cause of a belt squealing is the fact that it is loose, and tightening it would be your best bet... you may even need a new belt if it is stretched beyond tightening.

when i step on the brake pedal, it wont come the whole way back up and the brake light stays on, I have to put things between floor of the car and the underside of the pedal to keep the pedal lifted up so it will stay off.
