What makes you think that the fuel pump and the distributor are the problem? It would be very rare for both of those devices to go at once. If you car will turn over, check to see if you are getting spark at the plugs (you might be able to detach one of the spark plug wires from where they attach deep in the valve cover and hold the plug clip very close to something steel. If there is spark you will see it, or feel it if you holding the click). Then check to see if you are getting gas. There is what looks like a bolt at the right (facing the car) end of the fuel rail, lying flat on top of the larger bolt. That is a fuel relief; holding the bottom one with a wrench, loosen the top one while you have someone briefly turn the engine over. If fuel pumps out, then you have gas. You should realize that your fuel pump is IN your gas tank, meaning that the gas tank has to be removed in order to get at the plate on top of it where the fuel pump is inserted. I say this because I think you ought to be very sure that your fuel pump is bad before you go about changing it. After you check these things, ask again. Hope this helps you narrow it down.
