tempreture gauge on hot, but engine is not over heating, no fuid leaks. cant drive around the block, tempreture gauge shoots up, engine shuts down.

You are experiencing the dreaded gauge cluster problem. Most Impala's
2003-2005 have it. Can be any or ALL gauges. GM has known about it for years but will NOT cover the repair. Gonna cost you about $400.00. Check other WEB sites and you will find you are one of thousands who have had this problem
