have a 1988 s/10 blazer. came with a 2.8 ENGINE.Swap it out to a 350. have 5 wires that went to the bottom driver side of the 2.8 motor that attached to two seperate oil sending units. The 350 has a manual oil guage but one sending plug has a 3 prongs and the other two . cant get power to the fuel pump. traced one wire to the fuel pump. one wire stays hot all the time.the other wire works with the switch and only carries about 8 volts, the other two cant figure out. does all wires circle in cycle.need power .
Bypass the whole system and wire the relay for the fuel pump straight to an igintion on sorce.
Gm made that system so the fuel pump would shut down if oil pressure was lost, to try and save an engine!
Sounds like a neat project, what engine did you put into the truck. If it's a fuel injected engine the fuel pump for the old 2.8 may not have enough for it. you may end up needing a inline pump like you can buy at all of the "performance" web sites. Also if it's a carb engine then the pump may be to much, and keep unseating the seats! These are just thoughts going through my head, you may have already thought this through?
Good luck with the project, it will be a tire burning SOB. Oh and be careful with that little 7.25" rear end that was in there from the factory, they break with just a 4.3 and you are adding a couple more HP to the mix!

Have fuel to injectors but injectors will not spray. It has 11.9 voltage going to injectors. The truck was running about a week ago. I went over some rail road tracks and it died. Since then I have replaced throttle body and it still has same problem. no fuel spray from injectors.

1988 s 10 2.5 I start the engine in the morning or after 3 to 4 hours of sitting. It idles fine and runs great for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Then the fuel injector sprays out more like dumps out alot of gas into the carb. the engine finally shuts off and it continues to dump gas into it until im assuming the fuel pump shuts off. After i crank on it for a while it finally starts up and then acts like there is no problem. You could run the truck all day long no problems until you let it set for more than 3 to 4 hours. Any answers?!
