I HAVE A 1999 SATURN WITH A DTC PO340. IT COMES UP AS CAM SENSOR, BUT THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE ONE .WHAT COULD IT BE?

. This vehicle doesnt have a camshaft position sensor, it uses the crankshaft position

DTC code is P0340 no cam signal at PCM. Chrysler always used to say replace the cam and crank sensors together..wouldn't pay our warranty time at dealer unless we replaced both.

Hi. It could be the cam adjuster or the Timing chain stretched.

Fuse or bad/ corroded wire/connectors.

then replace cam sensor it dosent seem like thats it but i have seen tricker things befor

The po340 is a cam sensor code ,po325 is a crank sensor code>THE crank if it goes bad will through both codes,and also the car will not start.You will have no spark or injector pulse.So have your crank sensor checked:)

PO340 IS NO CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT FAILURE.YOUR CAR IS GOING TO HAVE BE REPROGRAMMED BEFORE PCM WILL RECOGNIZE THE NEW CAMSHAFT SENSOR.

My Nissan micro 2004 model just stopped in the middle of the road one day then the engine management light came on, anyway took it to my local garage TWK Thomas who said it was a cam shaft sensor problem. OK so sensor was put on, engine management light went off for two days only. So went back to the garage they said that another sensor should be fitted on the opposite side. And then the problem should be rectified, but i had given the £160 for this problem to be fixed the first time. I decided it was time to take it to another garage Nis Tec they put it on the computer and a code po340 came up would this mean another sensor or the cam chain has stretched please help. ...claire

Hello DTC P0341 & P0133 very common saturn Codes.You need to check condition of Plugs & wires,If not New Replace All Plugs & Wires,also I would replace the #1#4 Coil for the P0341.For the P0133 Reaplce your front O2 sensor with an OEM sensor,not an aftermarket.
