I have a 99 Intrigue 3.5L and it has been a nitemare. The code came back for the crankshaft position sensor and I changed it. Now it shows a (AO 300) which is multi cylinder misfire. I have replaced the plugs and it still has power problems and is missing. Low power and rough idle at times. Where do I look next? Only the 1 code listed above.
There is a magnet under the cover for the sensor, you need to check it to make sure its not cracked or missing. To test the sensor properly you need a waveform viewer multimeter. Once you determine its doing what its suppose to do then you can move to other areas but since your still throwing the code it sounds like its still got a problem. Could be anything from a bad wire to it or a signal wire to the computer, When all checks out ok then we look at the computer as being the issue. This is why its better to have a shop diag a check engine light. They have all the info and TSB's. It ends up costing less in the long run also.

My 99 intrigue only getting 4.94 volts the gray & black to orng & black wire and gray & black to green wire thay both get 4.94 volts when the switch is on and for 2to3 sec after the switch is off. I repaced the relay with one out of a car in the bone yard. when the relay is when getting 12v the points open and close.

1999 intrigue GLS 3.5- Runs rough. The guy I got it from was told the cat convert was bad so he gutted it. Still runs rough. I took it to Autozone and the codes read "bad cranshaft position sensor" and "multiple cyl misfire". I pulled the sensor and the wires have been very hot and were bare at the plug. Some may have been touching each other. I repair the wires as best I could and retried it. Still bad. I purchased a new sensor, still bad. I now have the plugs out and tested the compression. All are above 120 but the rear three are around 140-150. I am goingto change the plugs and little rubber boots. Is there something else that can cause the rough running, high idle then drops to almost nothing and sometimes dies, no power and must be held at high idle to drive?
