If it is a factory alarm, it does not have a shock sensor. The alarm will go off if the door or hood is opened while the system is armed. You can test this by:
1. Get in the truck, close all the doors.
2. Arm the alarm system.
3. Wait 10-15 seconds and unlock the door manually then open it. The alarm should/will go off.
An aftermarket alarm will provide protection against any kind of shock. Meaning if the truck moves too hard (i.e. someone kicks it, or breaks out a window) the alarm will go off
There are all different type of alarm set ups ur truck possible set up for voltage drop (open door light goes on )sets off alarm-- if truck has aftermarket sensitivity alarm and not going off will have to adjust the unit to make more sensitive
