Yes if it doesnt get too hot ,run the car and check the temp gauge, they can even run too cold so keep your eye on it,often people remove thermostats,if they live in a hot climate to help it run cooler but it doesnt always work, usually does though

Yes, it will be okay.
It's much better to go without than to use a stuck thermostat.
The only thing you will notice is the engine's temperature will take much longer to warm up, thus you will not have a functioning heater like you are used to.

Watch the temperature gauge. Removeing the thermostat allows the water flow through the cooling system to flow so fast it tends to **** the radiator hoses flat. That cuts off the water flow and makes the engine run hot.
I know that sounds weird but I had heard that and I took the thermostat out of my Dodge van. I did not put the motor box cover back on so I could watch the engine run. I drove the van down the highway and sure enough the top hose went flat and the temp gauge went hot.
The thermostats should not cost that much.If your going to take the time and effort to remove it you would save time by haveing a new one ready to put back in.
Also, a BIG thing. When you open your cooling system you will allow air into your engine.
YOU MUST be SURE to remove all the air before you drive that car any where. If you dont you will over heat and ruin your engine.
Most engines have a air bleeder valve near the thermostat area.
Read the book at the auto parts store and have someone who knows about this to help you.
I hope this helps you.

No spark = bad coil, bad coil connections(check all for tightness), bad distributor cap or rotor(assuming vehicle doesn't use coil packs, which i doubt for a 91)

Subaru legacy wagon

This problem is usually caused when the transfer solenoid/valve assembly goes bad, it's located in the transmission extension housing & needs to be replaced. it can be done without removing the transmission.
