My 98 x3 Hyundai Excel manual DOHC has just started losing power coming up hills. It feels like you've gone into gear too soon, but I havent. It also starts jerking. No lights come on either.

Hi Karina, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

Karina, it sounds like the "Clutch is Slipping" several things can cause this. (1) The clutch could be slipping under load going up the hill because it has oil on it, "Due To An Oil Leak". (2) The Slave Cylinder could be going bad or it could have air in the system due to a seal leak or low on fluid. Had new clutch kit fitted and mechined fly wheel new slave cylender and it is still slipping hyundai excel 1997

The clutch m/cyl has a compensating port that blocks up and doesn't fully release the clutch fork. Mostly the mechanic would have done what you asked to be done but as a matter of course he should have tested the clutch operation before handing back the car. I suggest you discuss the problem with him and explain that he hasn't fixed the problem that it came in for.

2008 hyundai accent clutch slipping, i think?

seems a bit early for clutch. how many k's? I would start by checking the intake tube for splits & security & airflow sensor. they will cause the engine to rev but no response (like a slipping clutch) so its manual right?

Can you adjust the clutch on a 2002 hyundai accent

The clutch in this car is a hydraulic design and is self adjusting. If you have a hard pedal with high pedal engagement or a slipping condition you are going to need a new clutch installed.

1997 Probe Gt, 5 speed, 2.5 L V-6; 77,750 miles: replaced clutch master cylinder 11/15/2010. Clutch free play okay, pressure to push clutch pedal down- okay (these conditions apply to vehicle after...

THe problem can only really be with the clutch master cylinder. What you describe sounds like the master cylinder is not relieving pressure and this is building up in the salve cylinder, applying pressure to the pressure place and causing the clutch to slip. Can you make the problem go away even temporarily, if you open the bleed screw on the slave cylinder? You say that the free play is correct, but is the master cylinder returning fully to its released position?

The throw out bearing could cause these isues, however I would look else where before doing anything about that. A throw out bearing can be "bad" for a very long time without causing any issues other than annoyance. Is this a cable operated slave cylinder or a hydraulic? If Cable you can adjust the throw of the pedal to take up any slack that will be made from there. Your problem sounds like your not getting enough clutch pedal throw, is there allot of play in the pedal? A simple test you can do is with the car off pointing down hill (key on so steering wheel is unlocked) With the car in gear, depress the clutch pedal slowly untill the car begins to roll. If allot of travel is required then you know that your not getting full use of your clutch pedal. A Broken shift or stretched shift cable could cause this issue as well. I would start simple and work your way up. If a hyd. system it is self adjusting i would check for full fluid in the resevoir as well. Let me know how you make out and we can trouble shoot from there.
