Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Caution: If you have an anti-theft radio, make sure you have the activation code before disconnecting the battery.
Clearly label, then disconnect the wires from the terminals on the starter motor solenoid (the smaller cylinder attached to the starter). Disconnect any clips securing the wiring to the starter.
Remove the mounting bolts and detach the starter (pull it gently out of its housing).
Reverse this procedure for installation.
Hope this gets you going.

I think the cable that connects my battery to my starter on my 1992 honda lx is bad how do I replace it?

Hello and welcome to Fixya!

First of all. You will need to remove the positive battery connector. From the positive battery connector, the cable attached will lead to the starter. From the starter, you will need a 14 or 12 mm closed wrench to remove the nut from the starter where the cable is attached.

Once you removed the nut you can now use the old cable as a reference on how long will you need on the cable replacement.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I have a 1992 honda accord LX. The starter still works, but it squeals when I turn the car over most of the time. Is it on it's way out, or is there something else I can check out?

Hi,
You may want to take you Accord to a parts house that does starter checks for Free.
Auto Zone, Napa, Advance Auto, ect.
They can do a Starter Amp Draw test.
This test will show if the squealing is due to dry and worn bushings in the starter, as dry and worn bushings will draw more amps, than good bushings, due to binding, thus squealing.
Dry and worn bushings will only get worse.

Leaky filler tube 1992 Accord LX need replacement

The filler neck is much more than the rubber boot you speak of. Here's a link to one place it can be purchased on line. You can do a Google search for other sources.

1992 honda accord wagon lx 4cyl. battery good all lights, radio work when i turn the key on but when i try to start nothing, no noise nothing, can u help?

It's probably the starter or cable to the starter. If you can get to it check it with a voltmeter while someone turns the key to engage the starter motor. If you have 12volts DC and it doesn't turn it is the starter.Good luck...
