If you pumped out all the fluid the pump may have dryed out at that time and its finaly given up the gost now, look to see if its full of strearng fluid lift your car up at the front on a jack (both wheels clear of the ground) then start your car and turn the wheel fully from left to right a fuw times this may bleed any air out the rams, if it still dont waor its your pump died on you

I have a 2001 ford windstar that we have replaced both the powersteering pump, and the attached high pressure hose twice in a months time. The hose keeps blowing the seal just before the threads where it...

Hi Brenda, I'm glad to help!

Brenda, 3 things could be causing this issue. (1) The steering rack could be putting excessive pressure on the pump. (2) The pump that was replaced could be bad. (3) The hose is not fully seated and tightened properly. The repair shop needs to hook up a pressure tester to the pump and see how much pressure it is performing. Excessive pressures from the pump can blow hoses and seals. NOTE: I would make sure the hose is fully tightened before the pressures are checked. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Brenda.

No powersteering

Try removing the belt and see if the pulley pulls out of the pump housing. I've seen the pump shafts break, especially in sub-zero temperatures

Why is it hard to turn the steering wheel?

Check the level of your power steering fluid and have your pump checked. You are probably just low o fluid.

Have 93u honda civic sedan replaced rack and powersteering pumping when turning make grinding noise what would cause that?

Was the noise there prior to the repairs you had done? If yes check your wheel bearings. If loose it is possible that the rotor may contact the caliper bracket making a grinding noise.

1993 ford started shaking badly while driving and after killing the engine it hasnt started since

First check and see if you have spark at any of the sparkplugs if you do then, check your fuel pressure sounds like it could be a bad fuel pump.If its not within specs replace pump.

I have a honda accord 1993. I had a leaking power steering pressure line and a bad rack and pinion that I just replaced, but now I have a howling sound when i'm driving the vehicle. it makes the sound...

Is the fluid low?

Did you replace it with an aftermarket pump?

Aftermarket pumps are notorious for making noise. Your nest bet is to get a good used part or get one from the dealer.

If there is a lot of foam in the fluid it will cause the same noise also. You can add an ounce of seafoam motor tune (available at any good parts store) to the power steering fluid. This will help reduce the faoming fluid.

The last thing I can think of is did you use Honda powersteering fluid? If not your going to want to flush the powersteering system ASAP so you don't ruin the parts you just replaced.
