Problem for Mitsubishi 2001 Eclipse Spyder

2001 mitsubishi eclipse spyder - at traffic light and car wouldnt go forward but would go in reverse. fluid leaked out and smelled. whats wrong? entire transmission or just a line?

You'll have to find the source of the leak to find out what went bad. It almost sound like a line going to the transmission cooler, but you could have a hole in the transmission casing. See if you can put it on a jack and figure out where it's leaking from.
