When your car seems to skip at what ever speed all you have to do is to check the Plugs and Plugs wires they must be missing the current that is why your Ride is skiping. all you have to do is to start the are and accelerate it without in gear. it will give a **** if missing.then the problem will be confirmed and you would be required to change it plug wire and plugs both. I tried the test no skip in park what else could it be

Try a quality injector cleaner if EFI or clean carby otherwise
missing is more from injector problems than spark plugs

It sounds like you have a misfire. Does it miss more under a load or does it miss primarily,at idle. If under load, it is likely ignition related. Spray water on the wires and coils with the engine running. If they are carbon tracking it will be very obvious as the engine will miss worse.

no that wont help the skipping...the wire is probably arching out somewhere but it wont do it all the time. i'd say replace the wires

At a steady speed motor skips pulls good on hills seems get worse every day
is this skip like a miss does it run rough at an idle try changing the plugs and wires cap and rotor and see if this helps also run a good fuel system treatment through the vehicles intake and gas tank and clean it out could have a lot of carbon build up in the engine this usually helps with performance issues.

I have a 2000 neon with a 2 liter, it has a skip in the motor.it is a pretty bad miss i can barely take off. i hold the pedal then after a few seconds(5-10) it finally takes off but with no power a bad...
on the plugs that you changed did you notice a black carbon trace on the ceramic part of either one of the plugs,if there is this means the wire is firing to the ceramic part of the plug, you will need plug wires, if any mark on plugs you just installed replace them also

do a minor tune up .replace distributor cap and rotor.coil spark plugs and wires.change fuel filter.check for intake leaks.at vacuum hoses.check air duct going to the throttle body.if tune up dont help.check engine compression.for weak cylinders and worn valves.
