My Hyundai Santa Fe 2004 doesn't shift down from overdrive when driving at 70 mph. Recently replaced the crankshaft sensor and timing belt. It is an automatic and the other gears seem to shift alright. When excelerating to pass a car the engine light came on and then went off once the mph levelled out. Why does it seem to stay in overdrive at high speeds?

I have a 2006 sante fe, 3.5 v6 this is the 3rd time i had the same problem, when i start it the rpm goes up to about 3 and when i am driving and take my foot off the gas the rpm's go up too. sitting in a parking lot today car in park it went up to 2 1/2 last 2 times the dealer said it was a sensor, is this a problem with the sante fe? also how many sensor's are in the sante fe, I only have 45,000 miles and is getting a little worried about this problem seems to happen every year. thanks for any advice.
