This is just a guess, but try filling it right to the top with fuel, and the indicator that tells you how much fuel is in the tank may reset itself

Fuel gage not working

Could be the sending unit in the tank, or the gauge on the dash. A mechanic would check the signal from the sending unit at the tank.

2001 gmc sierra stalls when I stop

When your stopped, that is usually closed throttle. I'd want to check and clean anything that has to do with idle air system, where applicable.
Sometimes with fuel gages, I do testing by using a couple of resistors representing full and empty. If your gage reacts properly, the problem should be the sending unit in the gas tank.

How do i check fuel sending unit with multimeter without dropping gas tank. fuel gauge isn't working and didin't want to drop it yet

Find the wires that run to your fuel gage. Hook one wire to one side of a "D" cell battery and the other wire to the other end of the battery. Your fuel gage should peg itself. If so the gage is good. That will tell you that more than likely the sending unit in the fuel tank is bad, If that is the case you will need to drop the fuel tank to remove the sending unit.

My gage/fuel gage isn't working properly. Fuel gage said 1/3 of a tank but it seems to be empty. ???????????

The sending unit holds the fuel gauge sending unit, and maybe should be replaced by dropping the tank.

I have a 2002 grand prix gt my gas gage goes from full to emty sometimes it goes 3/4 sometimes 1/4 do u no what the problem is

sounds like you need new fuel pump. fuel pump located in gas tank. before you go buy a new fuel pump first push up and down on trunk of car real hard to try to dislodge the little armature inside of tank. this little armature is what sends the signal to the gauge telling you the quantity. push up and down on truck to try to dislodge small signal armature then check your quantity. try this when you are having the problem and i am willing to bet the little armature is stuck. the only way to fix is to buy a new pump.

1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager Fuel Gage issue

It sounds like the fuel level sending unit located on the fuel pump is malfunctioning. The solution for this is to have it replaced. You can do this yourself but I wouldn't recommend it as the vehicle needs to be lifted and the fuel tank needs to be dropped out. This can be preformed for about 100-150 in most shops.
