2002 f 250 super duty. i have a noise bearing like coming from the front. was told it was bearings but those were all greased. that didn't help. not the transfer case either. might be the locking hub. how do i make sure b4 i pay some1 again. the noise comes when i hit a bump and goes away again when i hit another bump. it makes noise when it goes off balance. i took the truck to a ford dealer they didn't run it and said it was the transfer case. if it was the transfer case wouldn't it make noise all the time? they also said it was the bearings and they greased it and that didn't work.

I have a similar issue on my 2001 F250. Apparently there is a technical bulletin that describes cleaning the hubs to prevent small plastic engagement lugs within the hubs from partially engaging the hubs without being "instructed" to engage. This causes bearing-like vibration & noise. We cleaned my hubs at a local truck & car service shop (owned by neighbor) and the problem went away for 1 week. Its back now same as before. I don't have a solution and am thinking about trashing the factory hubs and going with maunal Warn hubs or equivalent. Anybody else have any solutions?

THE SEALS BEHIND THE HUB ON THE AXLE ARE LIKELY DAMAGED.
AND DO NOT USE THAT DEALER AGAIN.
