Got in mountaineer to start would not start tried

got in mountaineer to start would not start tried to jump battery no luck bought new battery because water empty in battery still will not start could it be security problem and what to do

check for bare wire on battery cable then check battery cable to starter and run wire if ok try hitting starter several good whacks if it starts then starter is bad put on new starter but replace solenoid first make sure connector is tight take a pliers and squeeze it a little so it is tight then try to start.
