Would the radio code be located in the car

The only place it was located was in the supplemental booklet for the stereo that came with your owner's manual. There's a card in there with the code printed on it. If you don't have that, you'll have to bring the car to a dealership to get them to look up the code for you. Be prepared to pay an hour's labor (or more) to have this done.
