2005 rendezvous battery light came on do i need to replace it right away?

I am guessing your brake light switch is faulty or needs adjusting. Its located at the brake pedal

Check the fuse box on the right (passenger) side of the center console. You should be able to identify which fuse it is by checking in the owner's manual.

My question is why did you drive it for 2 days with the chevk engine light on? You shoukd have headed right to the dealership or your mechanic.

A faulty egr would not create a high idle issue. if an egr valve were to open while idling then it would create a heavy stumbling engine or it would die right out. if there is a check engine light on (or service engine soon light) have the codes pulled. Failing that then I suggest taking it to a reputable shop

If the altenator is good the light will not appear. Did you have the replacement checked out before installing it. Most parts stores do that before you walk out the door with it

Unhook the battery cables for 5 minuits this should reset the code

when flaser blinks fast it indicates a burned out bulb on that side. If the service light ison you most likely unplugged something with the key on if all you did was replace the battery

The hydraulic lifters sometime get dirty and stick. Sometime they colapse and always make a ticking noise. If it is intermittent, I use
a engine up lube cleaner. Follow directions on bottle then change oil. This could help. Also fuel injectors will make noise when they are getting worn.

the battery is bad. the plates are warped or sulfated.
our shop see that all the time.just change the battery and make sure the terminals are clean and tight and the starter connection is good.
