Get the codes read first,If that does not lead you any where then you need to do a compression test.Do this only after you confirm that the fireing order is correct as it is easy to replace the plug wires and get them plugged on the wrong pins on the coil pack.the coil pack is marked, which will help.

07 ford explorer sport Trac engine shaking and temperature run hot. Replaced entire coolant system.what could it be?

Something is obviously causing the engine to run hot or not allowing coolant to circulate. Take to a mechanic before more damage occurs.

91 ford explorer turns over , tries to start

The catalytic converter or muffler maybe plugged up. This is based on the engine getting fuel and fire to the plugs. I would remove the 02 sensor ahead of the cat. and see if truck will start, be aware if it does start it will run rough. When the cat or muffler get blocked off it puts back pressure on the engine and thus not allow fuel into the cyl. to fire.

04 ford escape rough idle and it falls on its face. like its loading up

why is there 3 converters there should be one and then two mufflers. the one should hold back the compression and the mufflers are there to quite the vehicle check the book on the exhaust im fairly sure its not supposed to have 3 converters try dropping the exhaust and starting it ,then rev it up and see if it bogges down while you have it reved if not then theres the problem and dont be alarmed if it dies once you release the gas pedal that happens when theres not enough compression and sense you would have dropped the exhaust for the test that would be normal. if all goes well and that is the problem just get a new exhuast system with 1 converter and 2 mufflers. if all this didnt work try a new fuel pump and inline filter hope i helped you.

2004 Ford Explorer XLT -4.0 L V6 engine with 77K miles: Symtoms: hard to start...seems like engine doesn't catch. Changed battery and will now start sometimes, but very difficult. Engine doesn't seem...

First check for vacuum leaks. But your symtoms lead me to think that your catalitic converters are clogged. next time you start your engine check the pressure coming out of the exhaust pipe. there should be a decent amount. put your hand over the end, it should feel like it wants to blow it off. Have someone rev it up, and if the pressure doesn't increase alot then it's your converters. Another sure way to check is to remove an 02 sensor in front of the converter. If the engine performance increases, thats the problem.

We took our pick-up to the local Ford Dealership to find out why it was running so rough, especially when it was sitting still. It took 3-trips to the Ford House in one week before they could tell me...

The Ford guys you are going to are absolute morons. The engine light likely indicates misfire(s) codes. maybe catalyst inefficiency, but that would be due to the misfiring. Take it to a decent shop that has been in your area for a long time, tell them to tune it up and diagnose it properly. Ford trucks have a very common problem with bad coil packs and coil pack extensions. I can almost promise you this is your problem. Mention coil packs to the mechanic just to twig his memory and he can check his scanner for which ones are suspect.
