codes 440 446 evaporative... No vacuum lost from gas cap. Cap seems air tight. Good idea to warm charcoal with hair dryer? Dont want to change it. Thanks.

You can't check a gas cap by seeming. An emmisions staition will check it for you. You don't want to do that hair dryer warming. Flamable and rubber hardening is heat to gas vapors.
