Could be a problem with the sensor, as their is a few sensors, door(s), hood, depending on he car a few others. One of the sensors could be going bad and is super sensetive or intermitten and even if say a gust of wind hits the wire, it'll go off. Im saying it's a bad sensor.

1999 oldsmobile aurora headlights go off in middle of night and sometomes alarm

It sounds like you have a malfunctioning alarm system. If it is an aftermarket system, you should simply turn it off. If it is a factory alarm it would really be best to take this to a dealer. In the mean time, to prevent battery drain, you can disconnect the black battery terminal at night when you park the car.

Car alarm goes off randomly

I had a similar problem. The Antitheft reacts to voltage changes and views fluctuation as a theft attempt. My Lincoln did the same thing when it was 3 weeks old. I even sat in the Parking lot one night to see if someone was messing with my car. Turns out the battery was shortening out.

Alarm Malfunctioning - 2004 Sable

Have your battery checked for shorts. Mine was defective on a new Lincoln. Same problem. Even sat in it at 18 degrees one night to appease neighbors whom my alarm woke up.
Check connections at every possible point if the battery tests good.
Get up 30 minutes before alarm usually goes off and see if neighbor has loud car or slams his car door. Motion sensors can set it off too.

Have you had the system checked and the codes pulled? If so and nothing was found, you can bypass each alarm trigger one at a time. If you have the patience, do this yourself and park the car where it happens. If the alarm stopsgoing off wrong, you have found the trigger and/or circuit setting it off. Sometimes this is what it takes because the system is operating in it's parameters and will not set a code? Good Luck.

Alarm going off

My 2001 TD5 discovery has the same problem and this started in the last 18 months.
Normaly the car is parked in a locked garage, and the car is not locked.
The alarm does not go off during the day when parked anywhere even when parked for long periods.

When we are away camping in the bush or caravan parks, if I think of it I remove the "horn fuse" under the bonnet at night and replace this in the morning, if I dont do this the alarm does not go off every night, but I rather do this, than me and everyone at the camp site being woken up at 0300 hr'
Maybe it is the night temperature, ??

I hope this is of some help. John L.L
