If the fans don't come on to cool the radiator then maybe it's the thermal fan switch, which sends the turn on signal to the fan relay, that might be bad.

If the fan is not cycling when the engine gets hot, you'll have to test the fan motor and the temperature sensor. If the fan is running and it's still hot, the thermostat may be the cause.

My 2000 jeep grand cherokee is overheating when i drive less than one mile and the coolant light is going off. i replaced the thermostat and checked the coolant level (which is fine) but it is still...

replace your cooling fan motor relay because if you dont eventually your radiator will explode and this will cause your engine block to crack and then if your fan isn't blowing the engine will continue to overheat and the engine will seize and then you need a new engine. A cooling fan motor relay is around $30.

Over-heating

When the engine is at operating temp check the electric cooling fan. If it is not moving then i would check the fan relay which is located under the right side headlamp. 9 times out of 10 this is the problem

2002 jeep cherokee laredo

the only problem that vehicle has is with cooling fans is relay/module or electrical harness to module that burns up located behind and under right front headlamp assy must remove headlamp to access relay/module that is what powers up fan motor module assy.
