- Hey thanks! Yeah I've got Chilton's but you know how that goes. Enough ingo to get you into trpuble but not enough to get you out! I will more carefully check the wiring diagram, though.
So far, fuses all ok. Hot wired the transfer case motor and it spun. The switch I suppose is likely candidate. I've got it out of dash and have done continuity and voltage checks on it(as I ran it through the three positions: off, hi and lo) but without knowing what expected impedance might be I'm not sure what useful diagnostic info that gave me. It did seem weird that only about 3.8 volts was available to it. Is there a step down from 12 volts somewhere along the line? In other words does it send at less than 12 volts, then somewhere voltage is stepped to 12? Hate to just throw parts at the problem...
no it should have 12v i would have thought, but to be truthful i dont have a lot of experiance with this american type of vehicle ,land rover with levers yes ,double diff in a 8 wheeler yes ,12 speed foden gearbox yes.Would need to get my dirty mits under the bonnet to to sort it out .Sorry i couldnt be of any more help with a quick bang here or a thump their us brits would rather have a ford transit van diesel .with manual box and power steering .Now that a real mans tool ,ideal for carrying stuff
