I want to change the tranmission oil for my 2004

telling you to add oil to engine. maybe you should have oil & filter changed all together. asap. maintenance is very important, I cannot stress this enough, air & fuel filters need to be changed aswell.

did you disconnect any hoses/cables or electrical connections to gain acess recheck each ..step something is loose somewhere..

not sure on that car...autozone can print you out diagram as to its location and how to install in most cases..They charge nothing for this.....

The 60K service on this vehicle requires the following....

Change engine oil and engine oil filter. X X X X X Change rear axle fluid. X X Change front axle fluid (4X4). X X Inspect brake linings. X X Inspect engine air cleaner filter, replace if necessary. X Replace spark plugs. X Inspect PCV valve, replace as necessary.* X Inspect auto tension drive belt and replace if required. X Drain and refill transfer case (4X4). X Drain and refill automatic tranmission fluid, change filter and adjust bands (3.7L). X Drain and refill automatic tranmission fluid and change main sump filter (4.7L).

Anytime a Chrysler product of this year has a check engine light, get it to a dealer immediately. The 2.7 liter engine is notorious for oil sludging. This can be a dangerous problem that can destroy the engine.

Your problem may have nothing to do with oil sludging, and I hope it doesn't; but don't take a chance.

Ignition switch, i had the same problem. located in the steering column

could be a vac leak. what are the definitions for the codes??

a change in the oil presure the oil is moving around and not enough oil presure to keep the light off i would have the oil presure checked

you should have a input sensor and a output sensor on the driver's side of the trans!!
they are common to go out on these intrepids!!!
