Problem for Lexus 1995 ES 300

I just bought a 95 lexus es 300 w/ 175,000 miles

I just bought a 95 lexus es 300 w/ 175,000 miles Ive put about 600 on, It seems to hesitate when turning the ignition, sometimes i have to hold the key for a seconed or two, yesterday the check engine light came on, it runs really well otherwise.

sounds like battery is weak, or one of the big cables is loose or corroded
