2004 dodge stratus R/T with 2.7 heater blows cold air and it has coolant and new thermostat and the overflow boils over without the temp gauge being above halfway. how do you fix that?

Sorry to say but i have had plenty of experience with dodge vehicles and have ran into this problem before.....its your head gasket sucking air...(hence the bubbles in your overflow tank isnt from being hot....its the air escaping from your engine)......Plus the posiblility of your heater core being clogged....

The heater will not blow warm air until you start driving. The fan blows but its cold air. Once you start driving the air turns warm. Why?

There may not be enough coolant in the system. What happends is the heating core is nothing more than a small radiator inside the car. If the fluid is low the heating core is empty. But once you start driving the water pump works harder and fills it up. Another possible cause is a sticking thermostat. If its stuck open the engine cant retain water to heat it up. Thus blowing cold air. Whith the engine cold remove the radiator cap and check your coolant level. If it is full a replacement thermostat may be needed. HTH and dont forget to rate.

I have a 2001 dodge stratus and the heater only blowed cold aire now we changed the thermostat and it blows warm air when idling but when driving still blows cold need some help please

where did you buy your thermostat? if you bought a fail-safe style thermostat it could have been no good before you even put it in. also is your tempeture gauge coming up to operating temp?? if it isnt your thermostat may be stuck in the open position allowing the coolant to circulate freely and not actually warm up. i would also check the lines going into the heater core. if one line is hot and the other line is cold than your heater core is probably in need of a flush or replacement.

2004 dodge stratus, heater blows cold. flushed and filled and replaced thermastatestill blows cold. how do i know for sure if it is the heater core?

Remove both heater hoses from motor. Put your garden hose in one end and tape on securely with the other end pointing in a direction the water flow from it will not hit distributor or other vital electronics. Turn on hose - If water come out of heater core at same rate as you are pumping it in then your heater core is flowing - if not then your core is blocked or plugged. Be mindful - if the core is plugged the water will break the seal of the garden hose and heater hose, spraying everywhere, so turn the water on low to check and be ready to shut off quickly!!

Heater only blows hot when accelarating 2004 dodge stratus 2.7 could it be a thermostat or a sensor

You may just be low on coolant. When the car sitting cold open the radiator cap and check the level in the rad. Fill the rad. up and then the overflow tank to the cold line. Check this and get back to us.

My heater only blows hot air when the car is moving and cool air when I sit at idle. Also the inside window fog up if I try to use the defroster mode 1st thing.

Hi:
Your heating system is dependent on hot coolant to be circulated through your heater core, which a fan blows across, and you get heat. If you only get heat when you are moving, that means that either your engine is low on coolant, or the engine's water pump is not working well. Check your coolant level when your engine is cold.

Heater issues

you need to begin by changing the thermostat. if you dont know how go to an autozone and they will assist you.

if that doesnt solve the problem you need to change the heater/ac blower relay.

Heater is blowing cold air 1999 dodge stratus

A heater blowing cold air can be a few things. have all of these things check for proper operation to find the source of the problem.
1. Coolant level
2. Thermostat
3. Water Pump
4. Heater control valve
5. Make sure that the heater control doors are closing when you switch from hot to cold.
6.Last but not least if the climatic controls are electric it maybe at fault.
Good Luck
