If the number lights are out and the CD player is also dead it sounds like you lost power to the player. Check all your fuses as the radio and CD player may have separate fuses. Also check any visible wires to see if there is a possible disconnect.
Check your grounding, prob have used illumination line as ground, when lights switched on it goes to 12 volts and if connected to radio ground fuse will pop. Ground radio to chassis and isolate the wire you have used, replace fuse (probably blown) and should fix your problem.
You will have to replace the light bulbs. In order to do this, you'll have to take apart the cluster and radio to get to them. Visit www.oqcgp.net to search for fixes to common grand prix problems
i bet it was an aftermarket radio and you cut the plug off, well the dash lights run through the radio so youll have to get a plug in adapter and put the old plug back on then wire the adapter plug it in and everything will work if you threw it away then you will have to get a wiring diagram and fix your wiring
If everything else is still working and the Fuse is good it is Because the Internal Lighting on the Head Unit is Burnt out. The only way to Fix this is to get a New Head Unit.
you have to take the radio out t fix this problem i believe its a small led light in the radio , get a small gooseneck map light and face it towards the radio to see the stations cheap fix . when you take out the radio you need the code to get the stations back it has a memory chip in it.mabey this helped
somehow you probably triggered the anti theft in your radio.. take it to dealer they can look up your code and you should be on your way in less then 30 mins.. as long as it's not a REALLY busy dealership :D make sure to have photo ID registration and the car with the bum radio...
