When the light comes on again,it has to be on to diagnose the problem, take it to the auto parts store and keep it running, have them connect it to a code reader to determine the problem. They should also be able to recommend places to get it repaired or how to repair it yourself. Good luck

Does the 2003 pontiac grand prix have a check engine light separate from the service engine soon light?

No it does not. The Service Engine Soon (SES) light and the Check Engine light are the same thing, just with different words. They're both the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) just with different wording. GM decided to be special in that regard.

How do i reset my service engine soon light in a 98 pontiac grand prix

If the "service soon" is turn on, this is a warning about "maintenance time" (filter and fluids change); this warning light isn't the same that "check engine".

Hope helps.

Service Engine Soon Light wont Cut Off

You might have blown the 15 amp fuse that powers the cigarette lighter socket. This fuse also powers pin #16 in the test connector and if there isn't any power at pin #16 then the scan tool can't read engine data. Hope this helps out!

Engine coolant temperature is lower than thermostat

This happens when the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) does not reach 75°C (167°F) despite sufficient engine warm-up time.

This happens usually when the thermostat/temperature sensor is faulty, and is bad for emissions and fuel consumption.

The repair cost may vary, even if themperature sensor is not an expensive part, after replacing the sensor there is need to reset the ECU (car computer module).

How to reset the "service engine soon" light on a 2001 pontiac grand prix gt

you can go to advance auto and use there scanner for free to clear the code its called an obd2 connection or when you disconnect your battery you can touch your black negative cable to your red positive cable that connects to the battery and it will completley drain everything and reset but warning you if your trying to get the car through emissions your gonna have to drive the car 50 or 100 miles after you disconnect the battery each time..
