2001 ford ranger 3.0 auto trans swap out with a 2002 auto trans

On Chevy transmissions there is, on the input shaft, there are two (2) little tabs at the 12 and 6 O'clock position or 180 degrees from one another. When installing the transmission these can often break leaving the transmission useless. It will need to be taken apart and checked on. If it is broken then you can easily replace it from a junkyard trans. (just look forward to a day in the yard tearing apart a transmission) and replace it accordingly.
Keep in mind when reinstaling the replaced transmission, that you HAVE to line these up by spinning the Torque Converter untill it slips on easily. otherwise it will just break again.

2001 Pontiac Sunfire , you start the car and it starts fine no probs then put it in drive hit the gas & it won't move or it could drive okay but when you stop at a set of lights and then try to drive...

When was last time trans fluid & filter was changed? Sounds like trans filter is clogged, hopefully not badly. If it's been happening for awhile you might need trans replaced/rebuild.

My 1994 Ford Ranger (2.3L, 2WD, Auto-trans) runs rough. I've put new plug wires, spark plugs and even changes out the dual ignition coils and the engine runs rough at idle and seems to be lacking power. ...

I suggest to get the codes checked so you're not chasing a moving target. You'll need to look online - check out the Ranger/Explorer forums - or get the Factory Service Manual (FSM) to get the technical info you're requesting.

Driving down the Interstate last week, just fine, suddenly it's like someone put the car in neutral. coasted to a stop, when i put in Park, there was a fine grinding, BUT car still wanted to roll down hill...

i would say the fine grinding was when you put it in park the output shaft was turning and the parking paw was trying to engage into park then the paw engaged into park but you say it rolled i am thinking that your problem is in the transfercase
