Problem for BMW 1998 Z3 Roadster

The dsc on my 2000 Z3 Roadster does not work every time it is engaged, so I drive it disengaged. Will this cause any problems in the long run driving it this way? Also; With good maintenance, how many miles of good performance can I expect from the 6cyl engine?

Hi,
First of all, this could cause a whole bunch of problems in the future. So, better to get it fixed as soon as possible.
A maintained 6 cylinder M52TU/M54 engine should last well over 300,000 miles, and it's reasonable to expect many to see over 500,000 miles -- long past the expected life of the body.
