Mirror is broken need to replace it - 2005 Saturn VUE

If the mirror housing is in place, Have one cut to fit. Glue it in. If the housing is broken, replace all of it. You can't fix a broken side mirror. Tried to many times.

They make a replacement mirror glass available that uses double sticky tape. This has worked great for me. The heated function still continued to work!! In my case I replaced a scratched mirror leaving the old mirror in place. If yours is broken included is a link for a procedure to replace a broken mirror.

Remove the screws that hold the mirror and remove it from the door. Attach the new mirror. Reconnect the electrical connector and make sure you test the new mirror before putting the parts back into place. Reverse the entire procedure to reassemble the door trim panel.

Generally, getting all the old mirror off is quite a problem, as some of the adhesives used are stubborn. Easyiest fix is to just glue with silicone the new mirror right over the broken mirror.

You can usually just replace the mirror, any commercial auto-glass store has the glass you need. sometimes it is necessary to replace the mirror and its backing (a plastic frame which snaps into the adjustable motor) you don't need to replace the whole mirror unless the housing is broken.

gm does make just a mirror glass than you can get at you local dealer.First ck all the clips on the mirror and make shure that they are not cracked

That is not a Question but if you want to know what to do with your broken mirror. replace the mirror . it may be accessable by a plastic panal on the backside of the mirror on the inside of door by the window.under this panal their should be bolts or screws remove them and the mirror will come off.replace bolts or screws with new mirror.replace plastic panel.

if you can get a flat mirror cut to fit and stick it on with araldite

you can buy the whole mirror after market for about 70.00 dollars three bolts changes the mirror assembly its a pain to do it the other way i have changed alot of them if you can just get the mirror glass double stick the
new to the broken one
