Went to replace headlight bulb on 2001 chevy tracker. When I unscrewed screw holding clip; it sprung off before I could see how it went back on.

The screw only holds the clip in, its not necessary to take screw out, the clip just pivots in a groove and the screw keeps it from falling out.

Usually u dont need to remove that screw. there should be on the other end of that spring clip a part that should slide under a tab on the headlamp assembly its self.

How do I replace front headlight bulbs?

To replace a headlamp bulb, do the following:

1. Open the hood.

2. Remove the rubber

cover and socket from
the headlamp.

3. Release the retainer clip holding the bulb by

pressing down and moving the metal retainer away

from you.

4. Pull the bulb out of the fixture.
5. Reverse the steps to install a new bulb.
You can get a free owners manual at this site (where i got your info)
http://www.automanualonline.com/base/chevrolet/tracker/2003/2003-chevrolet-tracker-owners-manual/
It's free just enter the code they give you and Save or Open it. I'd save it. The site is safe.

Need to change passenger side headlight

you might need to move the air filter box to do this.

The bulb and its wiring is on the back of the headlight. Twist the clip to remove it from the headlamp housing, pull the bulb out and replace it, then reinstall the bulb into the housing.

If you need to replace the whole headlight and not just bulb you'll need to remove the grille by unscrewing 4 screws on the top side of the grill Rotate the grill toward the front to release from the clips holding it in place. There are 2 screws on the inboard area of the headlamp. Remove these two screws and the lamp will come out. Now you can replace the lamps or the unit.

How do i change the driver side headlight bulb on a 2005 chevrolet equinox?

open the hood - find the 3 or 4 plastic clips that hold on the grill ( the center of the clip will pry up with a small screwdriver ) once the plastic clips are removed pull the grill towards you and gently pull on the headlight frame assembly. The grill will not come off so don't try to force it. Once you have the headlight assembly out remove the bulb that beeds replacing ( when replacing do not touch with bare skin use a rag or paper towel ) Put it all back together reversed from removing it. Hope this helps

Replacing headlight bulb ford focus

Most of this solution for changing a headlamp on a ford focus sedan is taken from solution 2's writeup, accept with a few more details that should help changing the bulb assembly for the novice. Pop the hood. At the front of the car, look to the back of the headlight assembly. There will be a plastic cover on the back. On some models, you need to unscrew the plastic cap; on others, it just pops or screws off. Remove the plastic cover and then take note of the orientation of the three prong connector on the back of the bulb assembly. This is important because the replacement bulb assembly is going to have to be positioned in the same manner. By noting the orientation before taking out the old assembly, it will be easier to orient the replacement bulb assembly after removal.
There is a small retaining clip that surrounds and holds the bulb in place. Removing the clip can be tricky. On my 2003 Ford Focus sedan, there is a special place to push and release the clip that is above the bulb - perhaps further above than you might think. Push the release clip and it will release the retaining clip from the bulb assembly. Gently pull the retaining clip down and out of the way of the bulb assembly. Pull the original bulb straight out. Remove the three prong connector from the bulb assembly. Connect the three prong connector to the replacement bulb and then orient the three prong connector as the original and push bulb assembly straight back into place. Jiggle the assembly slightly to seat it into the correct position in the headlamp housing and replace the retaining clip to hold the bulb in place. Replace the plastic cover on the back of the headlamp and replacement is complete.
No tools. 10 minutes.

2003 MITSUBISHI GALANT HOW TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT BULB

First you disconnect the 3 prong electric plug. To disconnect squeeze the side tabs together (hard) and pull away from the bulb, then you can pull off the protective rubber covering, (its a little snug so give it a tug from the 2 tabs on the top and bottom).

Next unscrew the little Phillips head screw to loosen the bracket that clips in the bulb (take note of how the clip is installed before you remove it, it holds the bulb securely in place).
Just loosen the screw as you do not need to remove it all the way. Pull out the old bulb and replace it with the new one.

The bulb has 3 spacing tabs on it so it can only go in one way. Make note of this when you remove it so you may replace it the same way. follow the steps in reverse and your done.
Note: The little wire clip that holds the bulb in can be a pain. Make sure you get a really good look at it, since it pops out as soon as you loosen the screw. If you get lost, you can always look at the other headlight. Oh, and don't do this in the dark.

I cant get the old headlight bulbs outta of my 2001 ford focus any answers on how to get them out easily

All of the Focus model lights are identical. I recently installed Sylvania Cool Blue's on my '01 ZX3. Pop the hood. At the front of the car, look to the back of the headlight assembly. There will be a plastic cover on the back. On some models, you need to unscrew the plastic cap; on others, it just pops or screws off. There is a small retaining clip that surrounds and holds the bulb in place. Removing the clip can be tricky. On my Focus Wagon, there is a special place to push and release the clip that is above the bulb - perhaps further above than you might think. Gently push this aside with your hand and the bulb assembly will come right out. Just remove the original bulb and pop the new one in. These bulbs have a standard three-prong setup so there's only one way to install the new bulb. Pop the assembly back in place, attach the retaining clip and put the plastic cover back on. On the driver's side, you may want to remove the battery cover to give yourself a little extra room to work. No tools. 10 minutes.

How do you change the headlight for a 2001 chevy cavalier

i actually just did this a couple days ago, this takes about 20 minutes and a little bit of patience. When you pop your hood you will see a protective piece of plastic over the headlights/radiator, you firstly have to remove the plastic clips holding that piece then pull that piece of plastic off, once done u will see 2 bolts holding each headlight in place, i believe it is a 9/16 socket but if not just find the one that fits, remove the 4 bolts (2 for each headlight) and pull the headlight in an up and outwards manor. if you feel any resistance do not yank look at why it is catching and clear it, then it should just pop out (the headlight and the corner piece and clipped together so dont pull it too far out) then when the bulb is accessible pull the old bulb, put the new bulb in and voila place the headlight back into position, redo the 4 bolts holding the headlights and re-attach the plastic headlight/radiator cover. Enjoy the new lights

How to replace headlight on a 2003 Chevy Tracker

There are two black plastic clips behind the the air filter, remove them and release the whole assembly to access the lights.

If you still get in troubles, have it replaced at a petrol station, they will help you in fitting the bulb, and it won't be expensive.

Headlight

We have a 2001 Tracker. I believe that I did replace a headlight - it's really just a fancy BULB that I think twists-out of the housing from the rear. Pretty sweet not having to pull a big old glass headlamp. Do not touch the new bulb with your bare fingers as the skin oils can shorten the life of the bulb. To change the shell of the headlight - probably similar to most vehicles - look around with a flashlight and locate the screws/clips that may be present. Some of these may be "Torx" type. You may or may not need to remove the ADJUSTMENT screws. Avoid this if possible, otherwise the light will be out of alignment and will drive you or other drivers crazy.
