2004 Nissan Altima passenger side low beam

My 2004 Nissan Altima passenger side low beam went out (high beam still works). I've been to 3 shops, and no one could get a new bulb to work. They say it's a wiring problem. Sounds expensive. Can I try anything else before I take it to the dealer?

Hi,
Just a thought... If with the bulb not burning, you can verify that the voltage supply wire is "hot" and you know the bulb is good, you probably just have a grounding issue. If you can check the ground wire against the hot wire and get voltage, I'd suspect the problem is in the bulb socket or socket connection.
I bet you can figure it out... :o)
Hope this helps... I hate paying big bucks for dealership repairs too. Good luck!

The passenger side low-beam will not come on at all but the high beams work good.

Hello,
You most likely have a blown bulb, some vehicles have the high beam and low beam in the same bulb, I don't recall off the top of my head if yours does.
In any case, you likely just need to change a bulb.
Most auto parts places will install the bulb for FREE, you just have to buy the bulb from them.

I hope this was helpful to you, if so, please consider taking a second to click on YES beside the question, " was this helpful?", 2 thumbs up is a failing grade.
Thanks, Donnie

How to change the low beam bulb on driver and passenger sides

the low beam bulb is one with the high beam ,so you need to replace the headlight bulbs, its hard to believe they both went at the same time,i would buy one and replace it if lights still don't work than you might have other issues like maybe a blown fuse.

Passenger side low beam headlight on a 2002 nissan altima

when you got the spark chances are you shorted the receptacle for the bulb on the low side you should check the fuse for this . the drivers side low beam worked before so i would say you blew the fuse. on the passenger side check for broken ,frayed ,or loose wires in the light harness and the plugs them selves chances are you will find a short in them. please rate this solution

MY 1990 NISSAN HEADLAMP ON THE RIGTH SIDE ONLY WORK ON HIGH BEAM AND I CAN'T FIGEROUT WHY I WAS WORKING 2 DAYS AGO I GOT A NEW HEADLAMP FOR IT BUT STILL NO LUCK

I had a problem with bulbs in the 05 Altima I recently traded for my 07 Altima. The lows would stop working shortly after putting in a replacement bulb. You didn't say if you were using Nissan or aftermarket bulbs, but we found out that Nissans can have problems with aftermarket bulbs.

I was putting in Sylvania Silverstars, thinking I was putting in quality bulbs (which they worked just fine in the Taurus I traded for my first Altima. The Altima and those bulbs did not get along. I went through 3 sets (yes, that's 6 bulbs) in 3 months. We spoke with the parts manager at our dealership, whom we have an excellent relationship with, and before we even said what kind of bulbs we were using, he asked if they were Silverstars. Several other customers had had the same experience in different models (trucks, SUVs and cars). We purchased the OEM bulbs, which were the same price as the Silverstars, and never had another problem. Food for thought...
